Personality:
- Pyrrha Nikos seems like the perfect role model, someone completely and utterly untouchable and destined for greatness. She's got a sweet personality, carries herself with dignity and grace, and beneath all of that, she's an exceptional fighter who can take on multiple opponents at once and barely break a sweat. A celebrity of her time, Pyrrha is often put on a whole different level from her peers, made evident through her interactions with Weiss Schnee at the beginning of the series.
The problem Pyrrha has with being famous is that it comes with a sense of isolation. She finds it difficult to make friends because people often see her celebrity status before who she is as a person, and never really seemed to have genuine friends until team JNPR came into her life. As a result, she felt lonely and had very limited interactions with others, and developed a few awkward mannerisms such as apologizing unnecessarily. However, Jaune Arc was the first person who hadn't heard of Pyrrha at all prior to meeting her at Beacon Academy, therefore he saw Pyrrha as just another person like him instead of an untouchable celebrity. Pyrrha immediately took a liking to him because of this, and after forming team JNPR, Pyrrha found herself making genuine friendships with the people who saw her for who she really was.
Through her interactions with her friends, we can see that Pyrrha, despite her celebrity status, is nowhere near as big headed or arrogant as one might expect her to be. She's able to see the best in people--granted that you aren't a jerk--like Jaune. Even though people bullied him because he was struggling at Beacon, Pyrrha never gave up on him and even offered to train him to help him grow stronger. People have the tendency to believe that Pyrrha is too good for everyone. In reality, Pyrrha doesn't see herself that way at all, and treats the few friends she does have with genuine love and care.
This is because beneath her strong exterior lies a modest girl who puts others before herself. While being selfless isn't necessarily a bad thing, Pyrrha is selfless to a fault and shoves her feelings to the side for the sake of helping others. For example, when Jaune confides in Pyrrha about being rejected by Weiss, Pyrrha shoves her feelings for Jaune aside to try and offer him words of encouragement. She's visibly hurt by this, and even tells Jaune to confess his feelings to Weiss--to which Nora tells her to practice what she preaches, something that Pyrrha certainly struggles with.
Pyrrha is great at encouraging others, but not so great at picking herself back up when she falls. We see most of this during Season 3, when her plans to become a great Huntress are intercepted by Ozpin's desire to have Pyrrha become the next Fall Maiden. She keeps her feelings bottled up despite making it obvious that something's not quite right. She becomes distant from her teammates, though she finally does decide to confide in Jaune about what's going on (ambiguously), and when she does...well. That conversation ends with Pyrrha being discouraged because of Jaune and she ends up pinning him to a pillar with her Semblance. She apologizes, horrified by what she's just done, and runs off in tears. Although one could hardly blame her for being so distressed, what with being presented with the opportunity to become the next Fall Maiden, she still chooses to keep everything bottled up until she finally makes her decision: To accept the Maiden's powers.
To Pyrrha, becoming a Maiden meant that she would fulfill what she believes is her destiny: To become a Huntress and protect the people. She feels that destiny is something one works towards their entire life, and stuck to her ideals up until the very end, where she fought Cinder Fall despite knowing she would lose to give the evacuees more time to escape. Her selflessness is what ultimately cost Pyrrha her life, but it also lead to other problems, such as being unable to make decisions that were best for herself. More than anything, she fears letting people down and does what she can to adhere to their expectations.
But once you get past that exterior--a talented student who molds herself based on others' expectations--Pyrrha's just an ordinary girl who wants to experience genuine companionship and see that her goals are accomplished. She's brave, powerful, and righteous; she's also humble, sweet, caring, and a little awkward. Above all else, Pyrrha Nikos is always trying to do the right thing, which ultimately lead to her demise; but even in death, she still continues to inspire those who remember her fondly.
- Pyrrha is skilled in a number of things:
- Wielding weapons: Pyrrha's weapons in canon were known as Miló (her offensive weapon) and Akoúo̱ (her shield). Miló was able to take on three forms: a javelin, Xiphos, and a rifle. Pyrrha has shown high proficiency in using all of Miló's forms, being able to use them all to her advantage and switch between them seamlessly. In regards to her javelin, she's demonstrated extreme precision, pinning Jaune Arc to a tree as he was falling from several yards away.
- Strength: She's also shown to be physically strong, though how much of that was influenced by her Semblance is unclear. Pyrrha's also great at hand-to-hand combat.
- Aura: Pyrrha has the ability to unlock someone else's Aura. (I'm not sure if this would apply to TFS, but I thought I'd list it here anyway.)
- Semblance: Here's the big one! Pyrrha's Semblance is based on magnetism. She doesn't really showcase the full potential of her Semblance very much for the sake of appearing invincible. In battle, she only uses it for slight adjustments on either her weapons or her opponent's to change its course. However, she's very effective at using this to her advantage--most of the time, anyway.
